The Stereotypes

23 May

Three men walk into a room.  One’s white, one’s black, the other asian.  What do you get? The Stereotypes.  I tell bad jokes, I already know that.  Sorry for that one.

When I walked into the building, the air conditioning is broken, and it just happens to be a blazing hot day in California.  I arrive late, thanks to the 405.  The atmosphere is casual and I am sitting on the couch in the lobby listening to men going back and forth telling jokes their mom’s would probably cringe if they heard them.

The Stereotypes consist of Jonathan YipRay Romulus and Jeremy Reeves.  Some of their credits include Far East Movement “Rocketeer”, Danity Kane “Damaged, Justin Beiber “Somebody to Love” and many more.  They have proven themselves to be amazing producers with catchy pop tunes and smash beats.  They recently have dabbled into artists themselves, with their new song called “Lego”.  It’s definitely a great song I would want to hear in a club dancing away drunkenly.  Simple hard beats, electro synths, and of course a catchy hook make for a radio smash.  The Stereotypes continue their journey as producers and artists, and I don’t see them going anywhere but up.

Yes the video is 8mins and 57 seconds, and yes I know people these days have the attention span of flies.  But it’s a hilarious and insightful interview of their beginnings in music and more.  Watch the whole thing if you’re a cool person.  I know you are.  LOL.
